Christmas Cards

I love pinterest, and I searched for christmas cards inspirations for several days. I have two step kids that live in Canada, and it's difficult to have a recent picture of the five of us when there in a different country.
While I searched pinterest for ideas, I came across this one card here. I totally loved it and decided that this would be our christmas card for 2012. I had my stepdaughter send me some photos that they did, and I put them together with the photos we took.

I think it turned out super cute.

Christmas Cards

Well,  our Christmas cards were finally mailed out today. I will post the picture as soon as some our family and friends have received it. I wouldn't want to spoil it for them. I had stack of Christmas card stock paper, so I decided to make the envelopes for the cards.

The last time I used patterned/glittered card stock as envelopes was when I mailed out our moving announcement cards. I had the worst luck with those things. Apparently, the postage didn't stick, and once the the recipient received the envelope hand delivered, the mail person asked them to pay for the postage.

 How EMBARRASSING!!!

So this time around, I made sure to tape down the postage. Hopefully I won't have any issues with them.  Here's some photos of the envelopes. The left over scraps will be turned into gift tags for the Christmas presents.

I just loved all the different patterns and glitter!!

Baby Shower Gift Idea!

When my sister found out she was pregnant, her sister in law wanted to do a dinner to congratulate the new parents to be. All the guests were encouraged to bring gifts that would help the couple during their pregnancy. Some guests brought baby guide books, others gave gift cards to a massage spa. I decided to ask the couple what their favorite snacks/cravings were. I put a little bag together with their choices. I also made a little "notebook" that the parents could put there monthly progress of ultrasound pictures, and the mom to be's progress of her belly growing. I started off the notebook with some pictures that I had taken prior. The front of the notebook had this cute little poem:

My precious little baby, I have loved you from the start.
You are a tiny miracle, laying closely in my heart.
Each day I feel your presence, each day you quickly grow.
Each day your heart beats softly, as only I could know. So  I’ll
keep this in a special place, and remember each year through,
Of this very special time of life, the months I carried you.
