Moving Announcement

It's been 3 months since we've been living in Northern California, and so far I'm enjoying it.
Inspired by the movie UP, our moving announcement cards looked like this.

Stroller Card

My nephew is expecting his first baby this summer, and he had an all guys baby shower. I made this card that had his name instead of Daddy, and had my husband take it with the gift.

Baby Car Seat Cover with Window

Hey Everyone, I am so sorry that I have not been posting as I promised, but it's been a little crazy. My new years resolution is to be more active with my blogging.

My twin sister has recently had her first baby, and it's a boy. I have been seeing these car seat canopy/covers around, and wanted to get her one. So I looked through several retail stores, but I was unable to find one.

I then thought, wait, what am I doing, I can make one. So who did I turn to for inspiration? I turned to the blogging world. There were so many tutorials, but I wanted to make one that was waterproof on one side, and fabric on the other, and with a peek a boo window.

So as my first attempt I made one for my new nephew Matthew. I apologize for the pictures, they are not the greatest. Making a window with a little flap on both sides was a little tricky to make, but it turned out good for my first attempt. The waterproof side was just plain black nylon fabric.

Let me know what you think

Christmas Shutters

So, since I've been a little behind on my posting, I wanted to make sure I get this one on. My husband created these Christmas shutters for the front of our house that looked adorable, and I wanted to share. Never to early to start planning how to decorate for your next Christmas right? If you want complete instructions on how to make them, just let me know. I made the bows and they were super easy to make.

My New Sewing Machine

When I was in jr high i took homech classes. They were classes that would teach you how to sew, cook, crochet, needlepoint etc. I loved it, i learned how to make many things. When i first got married, i made our first Christmas stockings for us. they turned out cute. I have no idea why i never really pursued sewing till now. I see so many projects that can be done, but all i needed was a sewing machine. i didn't want a fancy expensive one, just one that would do the job. so i went to http://www.marthastewart.com/ and found one that she "hand picked", it's sold at http://www.walmart.com/ at a very reasonable price of $99 Singer 2263 Simple.  here is a picture of it and hope that soon i will be posting my projects, i cant wait. WOOO HOO!!!!
